What is a hackathon and why should I attend?

A hackathon is an event where people come together to create solutions to real world problems using technology. It provides an excellent opportunity to shape your ideas into prototypes and observe their viability. You will also meet many people who share your passions!

Who can participate in PeddieHacks?

PeddieHacks is open to all high school and college students, including incoming freshmen and graduating seniors (Ages 13-22).

When and where is PeddieHacks taking place?

PeddieHacks will be taking place virtually this year from August 16th-18th. Participants must have Zoom and Discord accounts for judging and communication throughout the event.

Do I need to have programming experience?

No. This hackathon is for both novice and experienced programmers.

Do I need a team? How many people can be on a team?

No. You can participate by yourself (and be eligible for the Solo Prize) or participate in a team of up to four people.

Are there prizes?

Yes. Prizes are listed on the PRIZES page and the PeddieHacks Devpost.

What are the rules?

Participants must abide by the Major League Hacking Code of Conduct. Furthermore, projects cannot be precoded and projects submitted to other hackathons cannot be resubmitted.

Is there a theme?

Yes, the theme will be announced at the opening ceremony on August 16th.
